Captain Dick Nichol receives the Distinguished Service Award presented by Governor McCleary at the Governors reception during the Tortola Charter Yacht Show.
Caught totally by surprise Captain Dick was presented with a distinguished service award by the Charter Yacht Society of the British Virgin Islands.. It was the first award of its type, given out in recent memory. Dick rarely attends government functions but was encouraged to get out of the office and attend this one by his daughters and friends.
There were several flattering speeches by friends, associates and even one by the Deputy Premier (equivalent to the VP in the USA except she probably has a little bit more responsibility) Dick enjoyed being a Rock Star for about forty eight hours.
